DIY pruning workshops
Your home is the workshop site. I enjoy sharing my knowledge of proper pruning technique with folks so they can maintain and beautify their own landscape. In this workshop, you and your friends will learn a valuable life skill while spiffing up your yard. Just like an old-fashioned barn raising, many hands make light work. It's educational, it's fun, and your plants will thank you.
What you will learn:
• 4 key steps to pruning a plant from the inside out
• 3 essential tools for pruning
• The difference between heading cuts and thinning cuts,
and when to use each
• Where on the branch to make a pruning cut — and where not to
• How to select the right tool for the size of the branch being cut
• The best time of year to prune different kinds of plants
• Ladder safety, proper clothing and protective gear
• Resources for pruning information
The details:
• 3 hour workshop
• Up to 6 people
• $250 includes workshop and 1 hour walk-through/planning
meeting with you a week or two beforehand
• Bring your own tools, list provided (I can make recommendations
in advance if you need to purchase pruning tools)
